The rat and RGD are invited to join the GRC!
The name mRatBN7 was selected for this reference, to maintain similarity to the other genomes being sequenced by the VGP and Tree of Life Program, while adding our request for incorporating the strain name.
mRatBN7 will be picked up by Ensembl for an initial rapid release, with a completely integrated release anticipated for their subsequent release cycle.
Once the assembly is re-released its name should be changed to include “GRC”, we will give an update at that time.
